Officially the world's most innovative spirit: Cambridge Distillery's Anty Gin is the result of a collaboration with the visionary thinkers of the Nordic Food Lab, and is the very first gin in the world to be made from insects. Each bottle of Anty Gin contains the essence of approximately 62 red wood ants, along with hand-foraged botanicals including juniper, wild wood avens and nettle that complement the sharp citrus notes created by distilling the ants.
Every bottle of Anty Gin is labelled by hand on our Distillery's 1924 typewriter, demonstrating the attention to detail which led this gin to be named World's Most Innovative Alcohol in the 2015 World Beverage Innovation Awards. A 5cl dropper bottle of pure ant distillate is also provided for you to experience the unique flavour of the Formica rufa in isolation – or to intensify the citrus notes in an Anty Gin & Tonic.

We’re obsessive about creating outstanding gins. We believe that the way to achieve the finest flavours is to start with the freshest ingredients. We distil each of them individually – temperature, timing and pressure are just three of the nine variables that we tailor to each and every botanical to get the perfect flavour. We then expertly blend these individual distillates into a harmonious whole.

Every single gin Cambridge Distillery have commercially released has been awarded at least a gold medal at international competition and we have been awarded three consecutive times as the most innovative distillery in the world. We still produce every bottle by hand in our distillery just outside of Cambridge city centre.
